Stacy Staggs raises concerns on Amy Coney Barrett's Supreme Court confirmation

Stacy Staggs, director of community outreach for the child medical advocacy group Little Lobbyists, testified on Oct. 15 in the final day of the Senate Judiciary Committee’s Supreme Court confirmation hearing for Judge Amy Coney Barrett.

Staggs spoke about the importance of the Affordable Care Act, which Democrats worry Barrett may vote to overturn if confirmed.

"We do not need to rush through the nomination of a Supreme Court Justice who is on the record as hostile to the law that provides our health care protections," Staggs said.

At the Opening Ceremony of the 116th Congress, Speaker Nancy Pelosi acknowledged the contributions of the millions of Americans who showed up and spoke out, including the Little Lobbyists.

Thursday, August 16th at 10:00 AM, Senate Democrats held a hearing titled, “America Speaks Out: Protecting Care for Americans with Pre-Existing Conditions.” The Senators heard testimony from Americans with pre-existing conditions who would be hurt by efforts to expand junk insurance plans and take away their health coverage. Among those testifying was Little Lobbyists co-founder Elena Hung, who shared her daughter Xiomara's story and spoke about what is at stake for children with complex medical needs.
