We need your help! We’re asking all our families, friends, and allies to join us during August recess to tell legislators to include our families’ needs in budget reconciliation because Caregiving IS Infrastructure!
We Little Lobbyists know birthdays are important, and we have SO much to celebrate from our past 4 years of advocacy: from saving the protections and Medicaid funding of the Affordable Care Act; to protecting the Americans with Disabilities Act; to making sure our families have a seat at the table to move forward historic new legislation like the American Jobs Plan, the American Families Plan, and the Better Care Better Jobs Act to benefit all our kids with complex medical needs and disabilities.
We’ve been working hard and now it’s time to PARTY!
Join us at 7 pm EST with your favorite festive beverage in hand to hear a few words from Little Lobbyists’ Co-founder and Executive Director Elena Hung as she toasts the past 4 years of advocating for the health care, education, and community inclusion of our kids with complex medical needs and disabilities.
At 7:30 PM EST, turn on your party lights and get your favorite dance tune requests ready for DJ Pizza Bear as he leads our fun and family-friendly virtual dance party!

President Biden’s American Jobs Plan , the American Families Plan, and the recently introduced Better Care Better Jobs Act, present an historic opportunity to significantly improve the lives of our families and all Americans with complex medical needs and disabilities.
By recognizing that caregiving is infrastructure, investing in home and community based services (HCBS), getting eligible people off of Medicaid waiting lists, making health care and education more accessible, supporting paid family and medical leave, revitalizing public spaces and transportation to improve accessibility, and SO much more, a brighter future is within our reach …
… we just need Congress to pass it.
Unfortunately, there are those in Congress who don’t think the contributions of caregivers and the inclusion of people with complex medical needs and disabilities are important enough to be considered “infrastructure.”
Here’s how you can participate:
Make a phone call: Our stories are powerful and your legislators need to hear from you. Next to visiting in person, a phone call is THE most impactful way to connect with your legislators. Call your federal legislators - Representatives AND Senators, and tell them why caregiving is critical for your family to survive and thrive. Let them know we NEED to pass the Better Care Better Jobs Act in order to get people with complex medical needs and disabilities - including kids - off of years-long Medicaid waitings lists and into the home and community based services and supports (HCBS) they need to thrive.
